Deeply Concerned

This is not a political concern, but a Christian concern.

Congress just voted down the Baby Born Alive Act. This act did not in any way affect a woman’s current legal right to an abortion.

What it mandated is if a child ‘survives’ an abortion, it should be given the minimal care any infant would receive after birth… no more no less.

There have been reports that over 1,200 babies survived abortion in 2010. Whether this data is correct or not, I do not know.

However, 1,200 or ONE… any child born is a living human being, a citizen of the United States of America, and deserves the appropriate medical care.

It concerns me that it appears we’re drifting further and further away from valuing human life at all stages of a person’s life – from birth to death. In many ways we’re showing more concern and doing more for animals and pets than we are for babies.

As a Christian I believe God will judge me and our nation on how we protect our most vulnerable citizens. I can only pray God will change hearts and have mercy.
