God’s Gift

It’s said that a wife is God’s gift to her husband and vice-versa.

The young woman, Marie Elizabeth Davis, who agreed to marry our oldest son, Wade Daniel, is also a gift to us.

Before we met her, Wade Daniel called and asked if we could pay for her plane ticket to come with him to attend his cousins wedding. We’ll never forget his words, “Mom and Dad, you’ll love her.”

And love her we did from the very beginning. In fact, we got concerned when it took three years for them to finally get married. Betty and I said to each other, “He better not let this one get away.” Fortunately, he didn’t.

Today, June 25, is her birthday. Good wife, good mother to our grandchildren, and good friend to us.

If that’s not a gift from God we don’t know what one would be.

Happiest of birthdays Marie.
