Yes, Christmas was just yesterday, but here are some memories of our Christmas Day.
First, we had fusion meals for our Christmas breakfast and lunch. We started with a Southern breakfast that we had on Christmas morning at Betty’s stepmother Nita’s home when all the family could gather – Cheese Grits with Sausage and Biscuits and Apple Butter.

For lunch we had a traditional New Mexican Christmas Day meal – tamales with red sauce, black beans, deep fried green Chile strips, and a Harry and David pear to offset the heat from the tamales and strips.

On Christmas Eve we went to our church’s candle light service. If you didn’t have a chance to go to such a service, you’re invited to watch our service.
On our way home after the service, we drove through Corrales to see the Christmas lights. Being a farming community, each year several of the working tractors are decorated with lots of lights.

In that same lot with the tractors, we saw that Santa also arrives via a crane.

It was a beautiful and blessed Christmas for us.
An excellent day indeed…
