October Monday

Newspapers should report the news fairly and stay away from prophecy …

It was tough without Google or Apple Maps …

So true and Betty and I are blessed to have some friends like this …

Everyone needs a support animal …

As much as I love bacon, I’m not sure about this, but I would try it …

Now we know why Smiley Face smiles …

A stacked jury …

You have to be a certain age to appreciate this …

A face such this doesn’t exactly invite friends. I wonder who does his hair, a Mixmaster? …

I love this …

Watchman Nee became a Christian in China at age 17. He was imprisoned for his faith in 1952 and remained there until his death in 1972. His writings continue to inspire the faith of those of us who choose to follow Jesus as our Lord and Savior …

PS: Rain kept the balloons from flying yesterday on the last day of the Balloon Fiesta so we had only one day when the balloons came our way. This may have been the worst weather-wise Fiesta in our 22 years here.

For Betty and me we have the same feeling when Balloon Fiesta is over as we do when Christmas is over. Only 365 days and counting until the next Fiesta.

My Prayer for Today

PS: The balloons didn’t fly yesterday because of winds and rain.

Thursday Balloons

The balloons lifted off Thursday morning and started to come up our way. As the reversed course to head for their landing spots they drifted to the West so we didn’t have any come over our house.

Given where he lives, I doubt our canine visitor, Fozzy, has seen balloons this close or for this long. He’s fascinated and in the last photo of this short video he is barking at the Princess Nelly elephant balloon and, of course, Jessie has to join in.

Only One Plus A Visitor For Jessie

Thursday morning’s winds weren’t as favorable as yesterday’s winds. The balloons took off, but only one made it up to our neighborhood.

The fun news on Thursday, especially for Jessie is she has a weekend visitor. Our pastor and his wife, Mike and Becky, are visiting their sons at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM for the weekend. They asked us if we would keep their dog, Fozzy, a Golden Doodle, while they’re gone and we happily said yes.

They brought Fozzy over and he and Jessie are becoming good friends.

Finally – Balloons!

Yesterday, the Fiesta balloons finally came up our way and we had a good show. Besides balloons landing around the house, we even had a balloon land in our street and they pulled it into our neighbor’s driveway to deflate it and put it into it’s bag. They even invited some young girls to help them and you’ll see that in the video below.

Betty took a couple of pictures of me taking my pictures.

Jessie is used to the balloons since she grew up here, but she still likes to check them out.

Betty took this picture of one of the new special shapes, a Hammerhead Shark.
