Good News Wednesday

I thought we would share the video of our trip to the Big Island, Hawaii. Be prepared, it’s almost 15 minutes long.

Memorial Day Monday

Before I get to our Monday humor, it’s important for me to remember what today is. Veterans have a saying, “All gave some. Some gave all.”

Today is not to remember those of us who gave some and came home. It’s to remember those who gave all and didn’t come home. Enjoy your day, but it’s a Somber Memorial Day for many.

With that in mind, let’s start with some Navy humor (PS: the date on his request is 19 days after Betty and I were married) …

Given the recent Pope news …

It’s amazing how realistic Lego characters have become …

She’s smiling up at him …

Spring is here. We don’t have a lot of Dandy Lions in New Mexico …

This is so true. Kids need to get dirty …

This refutes the old saying about being fastest …

Got to have bacon included …

We’ll finish up with some Star Trek puns …

Finally, there’s a rumor of a Star Trek remake with a cast who were on a three-hour tour …

We Can Not Be silent

Since 1953, Israel’s Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem, has recognized 26,973 people as Righteous among the Nations. Most of those recognized did some heroic acts to save Jews from persecution.

Some are familiar, Oscar Schindler (Schindler’s List), and Anne Frank. However, there were many, many more. If you’re interested you can check them out at this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Righteous_Among_the_Nations_by_country

Here’s one of the many who is not familiar to us, Irena Sendler:

I’m posting this because I’m concerned about what’s happening today. The Jewish nation has been persecuted for thousands of years and it continues today. It saddens me that we see Jews persecuted in our own country. Evil survives when good people do nothing.

Irena Sendler showed us what a good person can do.

As a Christian, I stand with and pray for the Nation of Israel.

WE’RE hOME

We’re home after a relaxing vacation on the Big Island, Hawaii, or, as we like to say, “Suffering for Jesus in Hawaii.”

The weather was good, the ocean water cool, but refreshing, no bugs. And, most of all, the food was great.

We reunited with one old friend, Charlie. She is the omelet cook at the hotel for the morning buffet. We met her on our first trip back around 2006 or so. We’ve connected again with her each time we visit. She’s a delight with a neat daughter named Zaz. She always remembers us and is so sweet.

We made a new friend in Ginger, one of the hostesses at the morning buffet. She’s such fun and greeted us each morning like we were old friends. She’s also a professional singer with the Alonzo Spirit Band. If interested, here’s her and another singer from the band singing a song called “Sunset Comes,” – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbW6DtOY12Q

We also made friends with a server, Ali Jane, and one of the managers named Patrick. We love reaching out to people with the love of Christ and in almost every case they respond to his love.

Now, the worst part of the trip – washing clothes, doing some grocery shopping, putting travel stuff away, and catching up on our rest after a long, long travel home. One good part is we get Jessie back from our neighbor later today.

Aloha all!

Monday Fancy

We’re still away, but something did strike my fancy. I realized I didn’t want to leave you without some Monday humor to start your week. That would be cruel and unusual punishment.

This is the Very Large Array and it’s located a couple of hours South of Albuquerque. It’s a pretty cool place.

Yep, we have one just like this, and we’ve used it for every use listed here …

How I learned to swim, only it was an older friend, not my Dad …

Always love a good pun …

Grey Poupon anyone? …

Be safe. Keep them in their self- made box …

Humans will try this trick …

Say what you will about Wile E. Coyote, he keeps on trying …

See. I told you it was a mistake to teach them to read …

Exactly how I feel about cauliflower. Where’s the cookie aisle? …

As a very strong extravert, I need this hoodie …

They are definitely angels, and I would add horses to that comment …
