Last Monday In April

A great prayer to start your week.

I know there’s no such thing as a vegan plane, but this is funny …

You can’t get away from your tribbles …

So, so true …

Another so, so true …

We were tougher in our day …

We must invite him to our next party …

May end well for the dog …

I would never do this with Betty because I don’t want to sleep on our sofa …

For my Northern friends and family …

Oh man, always happens …

I always wondered what the inside of my guitar looks like …

Hide it before old Henry lops off it’s head …

Easy choice. Be happy …

I posted this about a year ago, but still a great idea …

If the Internet says it’s proven, then it must be true – right? …

Finally, you know you have good friends (Bob and Molly) when they send you a gift that fits your bacon lifestyle …

The Call Of The Quail

“They asked, and he brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.” (Psalms 105:40)

We have an abundance of Gambel Quail. There is a male in the water bowl with a Dove. The other quail on the ground are all females. The male is flashier with a larger topknot while the females are more plain.

Gambel Quail mate for life, and shortly we’ll see them with 12 to 15 little quail muffins trotting quickly behind them.

Now, in the Spring, is the time unattached males look for unattached females. They attract by making a unique call which can vary from call to call. In the video below, you can see a lonely male on our neighbor’s pole (and others in the background) calling for a mate and looking to see if a female responds.

Sunshine On My Shoulders…

…makes me happy. Jessie loves her naps in the sun.

First Cactus Blooms

Our Claret Cup Cactus is the first to bloom in the Spring.
