The full moon on Wednesday was the largest ‘Super Moon’ for 2025. A Super Moon is when it’s at its closest approach to the earth. It can appear 14% larger than ‘normal’ full moons.

It’s also known as the ‘Beaver Moon’ in North America, in reference to the time of year when beavers become more active as they prepare for winter. It is also known as the ‘Frost Moon,’ according to the Farmers Almanac as the first frost often occurs at the same time.
